HELENA, Mont. — Fire activity was reported in the Helena, Montana, area on Thursday, September 24, as firefighters and emergency personnel continued monitoring and responding to incidents in the region.
Live wildfire information showed one active fire within roughly 25 miles of Helena, with the Colorado Gulch Fire located about seven miles from the city. However, available incident data indicated that there was no officially reported wildfire inside Helena city limits at the time of the latest update.
The situation comes as Montana continues to experience active fire conditions late in the 2026 wildfire season. The National Weather Service's Great Falls office warned of elevated fire-weather conditions, noting dry conditions, above-average afternoon temperatures and increasing winds ahead of a cold front.
