CenterPoint Power Outage Today: Latest Updates as Customers Report Service Disruptions

CenterPoint Energy customers in parts of the Houston area may be experiencing power interruptions today, with outage activity being monitored across the utility’s service territory. Current outage data indicates that a relatively small number of customers are without electricity, although conditions can change quickly as individual outages are reported and restored.

As of the latest available outage information, 71 CenterPoint customers were reported without power across the company’s service area. Harris County accounted for the largest share, with outages also reported in Fort Bend, Brazoria, Galveston and Montgomery counties.

The cause of an individual outage can vary. Recent CenterPoint outage alerts have included both planned work and incidents where the cause was initially listed as unknown. Some outages reported in the Houston area have affected dozens of customers before crews restored service.

CenterPoint advises customers to use its Outage Tracker for the latest information about active outages, estimated restoration times and power status. The tracker is designed to provide updates as crews assess problems and work to restore electricity.

Residents who are currently without electricity should report the outage if it is not already listed. CenterPoint also warns customers to stay at least 35 feet away from any downed power line and report dangerous electrical conditions immediately.
