A tragic three‑vehicle collision in Vineland, New Jersey, early Monday morning claimed the life of a 23‑year‑old woman, authorities confirmed.
The crash occurred around 9:15 a.m. on Delsea Drive near Sherman Avenue, a busy thoroughfare in Cumberland County. Vineland police say the woman, identified as Emmaliz Rosado of Millville, was driving a 2005 Honda Civic northbound when her vehicle struck the front passenger side of a 2009 Ford Flex driven by 34‑year‑old Estephani Loder, also of Millville.
That initial impact caused Rosado’s vehicle to veer out of control, cross into the southbound lanes, and collide with a 2017 Peterbilt commercial truck driven by 43‑year‑old Gilbert Laboy Jr. of Vineland, according to police.
Emergency responders, including the Vineland Fire Department, worked to extricate Rosado from her heavily damaged car. She was rushed by Vineland EMS to the Cooper Trauma Center in Camden, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the Ford Flex and the truck operator were not reported to have life‑threatening injuries, but police said the crash caused significant disruption on Delsea Drive, which remained closed for several hours as officers from the Vineland Police Traffic Safety Unit and the New Jersey Department of Transportation worked to clear the scene and conduct a thorough investigation.
The circumstances leading up to the initial impact remain under review, and investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information to contact Officer Christian Morales with the Vineland Police Traffic Safety Unit.
Friends and acquaintances described Rosado as a young woman “full of life and always smiling,” underscoring the loss felt by the Millville and Vineland communities. As authorities continue their investigation, the family has not yet released details about funeral arrangements.
