Tom, a beloved husband, devoted father, and dedicated professional, left behind a legacy of compassion, generosity, and dedication to family, friends, and community.

Born on April 18, 1963, in San Jose, California, Tom grew up in Saratoga and attended The Thacher School before continuing his education at Stanford University, where he majored in Art History, and Harvard Business School, where he earned his MBA.
A fifth-generation Californian, Tom embraced an active and adventurous lifestyle. He excelled in sports including water polo, surfing, tennis, golf, lacrosse, baseball, and pickleball, and remained an enthusiastic supporter of his favorite teams in both California and Texas.
Tom’s passion for art was a defining aspect of his life. He spent a semester in Florence, Italy, exploring the world’s great masterpieces, and was known for his creativity as a champion doodler and a passable watercolorist.
He enjoyed red wine, George Booth cartoons, playing poker, and motorcycle trips with friends. Professionally, Tom built a successful career in the financial sector, working for companies such as Apple, Xerox, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Aqueduct Capital, Avalon Capital, and Corient.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tom devoted himself to community service. He served as a Board Director for numerous organizations including M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, The Texas Heart Institute, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, and The Alley Theater.
He was also a member of the Council of Overseers at Rice University’s Jones School of Business and an Ambassador for The Third Option Foundation. His commitment to public service reflected his generous spirit and desire to positively impact others.
Above all, Tom cherished his family. He was the devoted husband of Jessica (née Schmidt) and the loving father of Georgia Louise Roupe and Jack Thomas Roupe. Tom treasured time spent with his family, whether solving crosswords, playing games, barbecuing, or enjoying the simple pleasures of everyday life.
He is also survived by his mother, Barbara Doyle Roupe; his sister, Julie (Roupe) Exley; nieces and nephew Barbara, Chuck, and Virginia Exley; and his cousin, Mark Thomas Doyle. His father, George Allen Roupe, predeceased him.
Tom will be remembered as a man of intelligence, creativity, and kindness, whose friendships and family were central to his life. He had a unique ability to inspire those around him, bringing joy, humor, and wisdom into every interaction.
